What is MelonCrate?
MelonCrate is a mobile home-inventory app that makes manual adding fast and painless. Create locations (rooms, shelves, boxes), add items to them, and find things later without the hassle.
How is it different from other inventory apps?
Speed and clarity. Stack quick-add cards, use a sticky location so new items inherit the same spot, and commit everything with one “Save All.” No endless modals or 12-field forms.
Do I need an account?
Yes. An account keeps your data secure and enables cloud storage/sync.
What platforms are supported?
iOS and Android (mobile only).
What happens if I delete a location?
Nothing is lost. Items from that location move to a default “Unsorted” location so you can reassign them.
How do temporary and borrowed items work?
Check an item out to a temporary location or mark it as borrowed to a person, set a due date, and return it in one tap when it’s back.
How fast is it really?
Typical flow: pick a spot, type once, duplicate for look-alikes, then “Save All.” Many users log 5–10 items in under a minute.
Can I bulk add items?
Yes. Add multiple quick-add cards on one screen and commit them all at once.
Can I attach photos and files?
Yes. Add item photos and optional files like receipts or manuals.
Can I export my inventory?
Yes. Export PDF (useful for moving or insurance) directly from the app.
What’s included in Free vs Premium?
Free includes all core features with generous usage limits. Premium raises or removes limits and adds power features. See the in-app Pricing screen for details.
How is Premium billed?
As an auto-renewing subscription via the App Store or Google Play. Manage or cancel anytime in your store account settings.
Refunds?
Refunds are handled by Apple/Google under their policies.
Is my data private and secure?
Yes. Data is transmitted over TLS and encrypted at rest by our cloud platform. We do not sell your data.
Minimum age?
13+ (or your local legal minimum). The app isn’t directed to children.

MELONCRATE – TERMS OF SERVICE

Welcome to MelonCrate! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Blackstone AI (Pty) Ltd (“Blackstone AI”, “we”, “us”, “our”), the company behind the MelonCrate mobile application (“MelonCrate”, the “App”, or the “Service”). By installing, accessing, or using MelonCrate, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1) Who we are and how to contact us

MelonCrate is a mobile home-inventory app that lets you create locations and add items to those locations, with options like search, filters, alerts, exports, and an item history.
2) Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country). If you are under 18, you confirm you have parental/guardian consent.
You must have the power to enter a binding contract with us and not be barred from doing so under any applicable laws.
3) Account registration and security
An account is required to use the Service.
You agree to provide accurate information and keep it updated.
Keep your credentials secret. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
Notify us promptly at info@meloncrate.app of any suspected unauthorized use.
4) Your content and how we use it
“User Content” means any data you add to MelonCrate (e.g., location names, item details, quantities, tags, photos, attachments, and item history).
You retain ownership of your User Content.
You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, store, back up, transmit, display, and otherwise use your User Content solely to operate and improve the Service (e.g., syncing across your devices, showing item history, creating exports).
You are responsible for your User Content. Do not upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful material. Obtain all necessary rights and permissions to store content you upload.
5) Prohibited uses
You agree not to use the Service for illegal activities, to infringe IP rights, or to violate others’ privacy.
You agree not to upload malicious code, attempt to disrupt or overload the Service, or probe/scan systems without permission.
You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to access source code except where permitted by law.
You agree not to use automated tools (bots/scrapers) except as we expressly allow.
You agree not to misrepresent your identity or affiliation, or circumvent usage limits.
6) Service features, changes, and availability
MelonCrate focuses on fast manual adding of locations and items. Some features (e.g., voice input, AI helpers, sharing) may be added later and are not part of V1.
We may add, change, or remove features; impose or modify usage limits; and update the App at any time.
We strive for high availability but do not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted service. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or issues beyond our control.
We may introduce or change default behaviors (e.g., deleting a location may move its items to an “Unsorted” location) to protect your data.
7) Free tier, limits, and Premium
Free tier: all core features are available with usage caps (e.g., number of items, locations, alerts, exports, storage). We may adjust caps from time to time.
Premium: paid subscription for higher or unlimited limits and additional features. Details and pricing are shown in-app and may vary by region and platform.
8) In-app purchases and subscriptions
Purchases are processed by your platform provider (Apple App Store / Google Play) or their payment partners. Prices may vary by region and currency. Taxes may apply.
Subscriptions auto-renew until canceled. Manage or cancel in your App Store / Google Play account settings before the renewal date to avoid renewal charges.
Trials/promotions (if offered): when a trial ends, your subscription converts to a paid plan unless you cancel before the trial ends.
Refunds are handled by the platform provider and subject to their policies. We do not provide refunds directly except where required by law.
9) Data, privacy, and security
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using the Service, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.
Cloud hosting and storage are provided by third-party processors (e.g., Supabase). We use TLS in transit and encryption at rest provided by our platform. No security is perfect; please export important data regularly.
10) Intellectual property
MelonCrate (software, design, branding, and all related IP) is owned by Blackstone AI or our licensors and is protected by law.
We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control solely for personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with these Terms.
Except for the license we grant, we reserve all rights in the Service.
11) Feedback
If you send suggestions, ideas, or feedback, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use them without any obligation to you.
12) Third-party services and links
The Service may integrate with or link to third-party services (e.g., app stores, cloud platforms). We are not responsible for third-party services or their terms and policies.
13) Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and request account deletion (see our Privacy Policy).
We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, if we discontinue the Service, or for risk/security reasons.
Upon termination, your license ends and your access stops. Certain provisions survive termination, including those relating to IP, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and dispute terms.
14) Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted, or that content will be preserved without loss. You are responsible for maintaining backups and verifying exports.
15) Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BLACKSTONE AI (PTY) LTD AND ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR REVENUE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.
TO THE EXTENT NOT EXCLUDED, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM; OR (B) USD $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations; some rights may not be waived.
16) Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Blackstone AI (Pty) Ltd from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your User Content, or your breach of these Terms or applicable law.
17) Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts of South Africa for any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, except where local law provides you a non-waivable right to bring claims in your local courts.
18) Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in-app. The updated Terms are effective when posted or when stated in the notice. If you continue to use the Service after changes take effect, you accept the new Terms.
19) Miscellaneous
Entire agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any in-app plan details, are the entire agreement between you and us.
Severability: If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect.
No waiver: Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
Assignment: You may not transfer or assign your rights or obligations under these Terms. We may assign these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, or by operation of law.
Force majeure: We are not responsible for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

Scope
This policy covers the MelonCrate mobile app (iOS/Android) and related support we provide by email or in-app notices.
Quick summary (TL;DR)
• We collect the minimum needed to create/secure your account and store your home inventory (locations, items, attachments).
• We don’t sell your data.
• Cloud hosting/storage is provided by Supabase. Purchases are handled by your app store or payment provider.
• No analytics or crash reporting is enabled at launch.
• You can email us at info@meloncrate.app to access or delete your data. In-app tools for export/deletion are coming soon.
1) Who is responsible for your data
Blackstone AI (Pty) Ltd is the data controller for personal data processed through MelonCrate. We use vetted third-party processors (e.g., Supabase) to operate the service.
2) What we collect
Account data — Email address (for account creation, verification, and security messages); password/credentials (stored hashed; never in plain text); basic account metadata (sign-up date, verification state).
Content you add — Inventory content you enter (location names, item titles/descriptions, quantities, tags, notes); attachments you upload (item photos; optional files such as receipts/manuals); operational history (item move/edit/checkout events shown in your item timeline).
Device & technical — Device model, OS version, app version, language, time zone; push notification token (if you enable alerts); network/IP-derived region for security/anti-abuse.
Purchases — We receive purchase status/receipts from your platform (Apple App Store/Google Play) or payment provider to activate Premium and provide support. We do not receive or store full payment card details.
We do not collect — Precise GPS location, your contacts, clipboard data, health/biometric data, or other sensitive categories.
3) Why we collect it (purposes & legal bases)
• Provide and operate the service (create/verify account, store inventory/attachments, show history, deliver optional alerts) — Contract necessity.
• Reliability & support (troubleshooting, security, anti-abuse) — Legitimate interests.
• Billing & receipts (validate in-app purchases/subscriptions) — Contract / Legal obligation.
• Service communications (verification, security, important updates) — Contract / Legitimate interests.
• Optional features later (e.g., marketing, analytics) — Consent (if/when enabled).
4) How we store and protect data
Cloud platform: Supabase (managed database and object storage). Security: TLS in transit; encryption at rest provided by our cloud platform; role-based access controls; least-privilege access; regular backups. You should keep your login secure and use a strong, unique password.
5) Where data is processed & international transfers
Data may be stored and processed outside your country. For users in regions with transfer rules (e.g., EU/UK), we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) with our processors.
6) Third-party processors at launch
• Supabase — authentication, database, storage, backups.
• Apple App Store / Google Play (and/or payment provider) — in-app purchases, receipts, subscription status.
• Transactional email for verification/reset — via Supabase or an equivalent service.
We will update this list if we add analytics, crash reporting, or additional providers.
7) How long we keep data (retention)
• Account & inventory content: kept until you delete it or close your account.
• Attachments (photos/files): kept until you delete them or close your account.
• History/audit events: kept as long as the related item exists (you can ask us to purge older history).
• Purchase/subscription records: retained as required by tax/financial laws (commonly up to 7 years).
• Backups: retained for disaster recovery for up to 90 days.
8) Your rights
Depending on your location (e.g., POPIA in South Africa, GDPR/UK GDPR in Europe/UK, CPRA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent (for consent-based features); and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
How to exercise rights: email info@meloncrate.app. We will verify your request and respond within the applicable legal timeframe. In-app export/deletion controls are planned in a future update.
9) Sharing & disclosures
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with processors listed above to operate the service, and with authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, we will notify you of any change in control and your choices.
10) Children
MelonCrate is not directed to children. You must be 13+ (or the minimum age required in your country; 16 in parts of the EU for certain services). If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.
11) Data accuracy & your content
Inventory content (names, photos, files) is user-provided. Please ensure it does not infringe others’ rights and avoid uploading content you do not wish to store.
12) Security incidents
We maintain processes to detect and respond to potential security incidents. If legally required, we will notify you of a breach promptly via in-app notice and/or email.
13) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as MelonCrate evolves (for example, if we add analytics or new features). We will notify you in-app and update the “Effective date” above. Material changes will be highlighted.
